Who we are

Twenty years on the machines came first.

Iron Glacier was founded by someone who spent two decades in CNC manufacturing, from running machines as an operator through to engineering support, in shops ranging from three-person job shops to operations with more than two hundred machinists.

That background is the whole reason these products exist. The problem they solve came up over and over on the floor: a machine that has to stay in service for another fifteen years, an IT department that cannot let it near the network, and a programmer walking a USB stick out to it in the meantime.

Most attempts at this problem come from IT companies working outward, and they tend to break something a machinist depends on. We started from the machine and worked toward the network instead.

How we work

We stay deliberately small. The person who designs the product is the person who assembles it, tests it, and answers the phone when you call about it. When you ask a technical question you get an answer — not a ticket number.

Every unit goes through a standard test protocol before it ships: hardware verification, encryption validation, network connectivity, and machine communication checks. The point is to find a fault here, before the unit is anywhere near your machine.

Staying current

Security requirements change, and a device that never changes with them stops being an asset. We commit to biannual releases aligned with standard release security cycles, and offer existing customers a discounted trade-in to current hardware every two years, so what is on your floor stays supportable.

Where we are

Iron Glacier LLC is based in Wellsville, Utah, and serves manufacturers across the United States. We take part in the manufacturing community through the Utah chapter of the National Tooling and Machining Association and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
